Unsolved Mystery

Huh.. After a senti blog I am back with my favourite topic. It was usual after dinner gossips going on. Donno how and why but the topic of ghosts arrived in our discussion. Everyone was sharing his experience. Out of many I will tell you two of them. First- an old lady was very popular those days. She used to knock the window of house and ask for roti and pyaaz. Now that was a situation of 'aage kuwan peeche khai'. If you dont offer her roti and pyaaz she will pull you out of the window and bite on your neck with her long pointed teeth. But if you give her what she wants she will come daily till you refuse to give (and that would be your last day on this planet). Second- a bhaiya of my muhalla was going to railway station late night. There was a shortcut to their but a graveyard was on the way to that. He decided to take shortcut. While he was in middle of the graveyard, someone held his neck from back that too so tightly that he almost died. He was not able to cry for help even. But luckily no one knows what happened that his neck was left free. He rushed to his home as fast as he could. I havent seen but heard that a dark black mark remains on his neck till now. No doctor, no cream was able to remove that mark.

Back to live. It was too late then. And we were still young not to be afraid after listening so many stories. We had three rooms in our house with two of them having windows which opened on road. We all were in the third one. Now all of us were so afraid that none had courage to sleep in those two rooms. All were not able to decide what to do that some incidents took place that added fuel to the fire. There was a knock on one of the windows( remember the first story). As expected no one had the courage to go and see. But thank god, it was just one time knock. We began to consolidate each other that it was our delusion out of fear. It was becoming fine that some sound came of other room. We all went together to find that the book and the table clock (which was lying on table) was lying on the ground. The fans were off and the windows closed. Could not figure how both items fallen. This increased our fear to, I dont know, how many times. Soon we were back to our third room. Now I will tell you that half minute incident that created fear which I wont forget my whole life. Aaj tak life me utna nahi dara jitna us samay darr gaya tha. Some one grabbed the keyring that made a sound of a paayal. I can still remember that dhak sound of my heart. I felt, ab to bhooth yahan bhi aa gayi, ab koi nahi bachega. But soon realised it was the sound of the keyring. Huh. relieved.

Donno how eight of us managed to sleep on a double bed. Dont remember when we slept. But was awake only in the morning. We told the incident to our land lady. She did a puja with incense stick all over. Calendar having photos of god was put. Hope no one goes through such a horrible night (though I laugh whenever memories of that night, rather nightmare, comes to my mind). Ending with the beginning of age old argument, 'do ghosts exist or not'.

I know that my writing sucks. I am just a beginner in this field. So I request all of my lovely readers not to ask for fine after reading this (as many of my friends do). I am working on to make my writing more efficient. Thank you all.

Love is Blind

I was on the way to howrah station, totally baffled by climatic conditions of kolkata. That too accompanied with traffic jams and all. So you can guess I was about to reach late. The train was on 13:25 and I reached their on 13:45. Whole way I was praying to god, "hey bhagwaan train late ho jaye, train late ho jaye, is garmi mein main phir se wapas nahi jana chahta". Though the chances were negligible as train started from their only but still god heard and that too, generously. Came to know it was late by 4.5 hrs. I didnt knew whether to be happy or sad, but still, thats life. Now I will tell you something about the station. No place to sit, no restaurant to go, boiled water under label, "cold, purified water", only people all around. Finally managed to get 1 seat, placed my mom their and I went howrah bridge to get some fresh air. A lot of restrictions there too, pedestrians cant go on road, they will think you a terrorist if you take snap of any place around(though I managed to get some). Finally train started at 18:00.

Now I will move to a tragic love triangle. An unmarried couple was there in our couch. A third person (of her college) was to next to us. I could clearly see the unsuccessful love in his eyes. Anyways, he came and sat behind us to brush up some old memories I think. Initially all three talked for about half an hour but then they began to neglect him. But his love kept his a*s there only. Finally he tried to seek their attention (or it was real, I dont know). He complained of vomiting, even then they didnt put any care, he stood up to get going keeping his hand on mouth. Here the two darlings didnt even bothered to inquire . He came again after some times, longed for response and finally went off keeping his cell on the ears.

Suddenly I woke up around 01:00 and found her shivering in cold as she had nothing to put up except her dupatta. I saw his bf sleeping relaxed with no tension. I was in between my thoughts of whether to offer her a blanket that suddenly his failed lover came with a blanket. He told, "mera soya hua ho gaya, ab hum nahi soyenge, so take this (though major part of night of left)". Finally the girl could sleep in comfort.

The moral of the story is, do the lack of expression means the lack of love? Why do girls dont go for those who love them? They always prefer to go with whom they love. No matter if he is good or bad. Seriously, the love is blind.

Lost and Found

Something that happened about 16/17 years back suddenly flashed today. So I thought to pen it down. I had a small fight with my brother. So I went to my mother for complaining. But instead of consoling me she scolded me and told, "papa aayenge to unse bolna, hum nahi jante tumlog ka ladai". I too annoyed went to my father(he was not at home). On my way I had to take a right turn. But 5 year old child brain could not remember the right way and instead turned left. Consequently I ended up reaching kutchery with no where to head. So I began to cry endlessly on road itself. It was that kind advocate who spotted me and asked me why I was crying. I just answered, "humko papa ke paas jana hai, humko papa ke paas jana hai". That childish brain didnt know even his father`s name or home address. So he took me to Raj Sounds. It was a shop that gave sound systems in marriage ceremony and all. They gave us lot of things to eat as a bribe to stop crying. But even after accepting all bribes I continued The owner took the responsibility and made announcements over the mic all over the town. Meanwhile It was discovered in home that I was missing. So search movement began. While looking for me on rickshaw my mother started crying. The rickshaw puller asked why she was crying. She narrated the whole situation. Then he informed that he had heard the announcement of a boy missing. He took me to Raj Sound and as a result now I am among you all. Had I been fallen in wrong hands ...... Its not worth describing.

The Nightmare continues

Something peculiar was there about that house. You rarely come across such area. A temple, a gurudwara and a church all three were in a radius of 10 meters. A mosque was also there but in a radius of 100 meters. Generally you do not accept a peaceful life in area like that. But on a contrary it was just opposite. It was one of the best location to be lived in both socially and spiritually. In midst of that area there was a boys hostel where some IIT aspirants lived. It was a three storey building. Landlord lived on ground floor. First floor was like a store. And boys lived on top floor. There was a big veranda in middle and rooms were side along it. Number of boys living there was 10. It was like a paying guest type where you are bound to eat what ever provided. Ok.... thats different matter.

Some boys went home and five of them were left at that time. They were studying together in a room at around 23:30. Suddenly there was a knock at the door around 00:00. Boys were surprised as all of them were inside the room itself. Then also one of them stood and opened the gate. But no one was there. They thought that it must be their illusion or some one was trying to do majaak with them. So they ignored and continued their study. After 5 minutes there was a knock again. They opened the door to find no one. They got afraid, locked the room again and continued with whatever they were doing. Once again there was a knock but this time it was not just a knock. Someone was hitting the door as hard as possible. Once again they opened the door shivering. Ab unki haalat kharab ho gayi. (I wonder baar baar wo darwaja band kyun kar de rahe the? khula chor dete to knock thode karta koi. sidhe ghus jata. Khair.) Fortunately that was the last knock. They were relieved but no one dared to go to their respective room. So all of them slept together in that room only. They woke up next day to go for their tuition. They returned around 01:00. After returning they informed the landlady about the incident. She thought boys were trying to make fun so she ignored. When landlord returned in evening they told him too. He consolidated that agar aaj raat bhi kuch hua to dekha jayega. Is tarah bacche 12:00 baje se pehle hi ek room me jama ho gaye ki agar kuch hua to ek saath face karenge. At dot 12:00 the knocking started again and I do not want to bore you with the same lines again. Once again they went to landlord next morning. Obviously they were frightened so landlord assured them to be there at the night. He informed one of his friend about the incidence. Till now mentally they were not taking the things seriously. They arranged a bottle of bear, some other liquor and two shisha ke glasses and started drinking in middle of that veranda. Jab unko thodi chadh gayi to chillane lage, kahan ho bhoot bhai samne aao. Basically they were trying to make fun of students. Suddenly clock ticked 12 and one of the glass was in air and moving to and fro in front of the neighbour. He was so much frightened that he began to run to stop only in his house. The landlord also ran to the ground floor. Luckily nothing happened with the boys that night. It was sunday next day. There was no tuition that day. It was only day when days could bath at 08:00. Rest of the days they had tuition so there was no question of bathing. Coming back to the point one of them was in the bathroom. Suddenly something fell in the bathroom. It was a big tiles. He was afraid and tried to escape from bathroom. But alas! bathroom was locked from outside. So he began to hit the door. Hearing the noise other friends came running. They shouted to open the door from inside as it was already open from outside. But it was not opening from inside. Finally they had to break the door to take him out. (Strange. ander wale ko laga ki bahar se band hai aur bahar wale ko laga ki ander se band hai.) Suddenly they noticed the tiles that fell from the top. One of them realised the tiles was lying on roof top since ever they came. (How can something fell with a obstacle in between?)

Search for some BABA began who deals with bhoot, pret. Finally they got one and visit was scheduled that day itself. With his first foot in house he told this place is haunted. He reached veranda, took out a knife, read some mantra aur usko phook diya chaku pe. Then he hold the back of the knife and told us, this knife will point to the bhoots who are present in the house. Firstly knife pointed to the ventilator of a room. He climbed on a table and found something wrapped in a paper. He opened it to find a small piece of bone along with some chawal and sindoor. Two more such packets were found, one in the cup shaped bawl present in the fan and other dug inside the lump of gitti on the roof. In this way all bhoots were captured. BABA took all three of them with himself along with a good amount of money. Till now it is a mystery as to why and from where they came from.

But hats off to those brave boys. Even after going through all this none of them changed the hostel.

The Nightmare

I wont forget that night ever. It was d month of may. Summer was on its peak. Days were really really hot there but nights were some what cool especially under the open sky. So I, along with my four other friends(S, N, D and P) were on a night walk. It was around 01:00. We were having fun on our way and nobody noticed that we were at the main road by then. I don`t remember exactly who gave the idea of racing. It was difficult to even cross the road in busy hrs but we managed to make it a race course. We raced in a group of two and I and my partner finished in exactly the same time(though he never accepted). I curse the man even today who thought that we were thieves and were running after snatching something. So as a responsible citizen he dialed 100 and informed about us. I hope 100 of every place was so fast. They came within five minutes and the sound of siren was there to enter in our ears. Before we could think of something some1 from us shouted "run". S and N started running but me, D and P were in a dilemma of running or standing still or... As 100 were on a jeep they thought (wisely) of chasing instead of catching stationary culprits(acc. to them). Till then we took few steps back and jumped inside a house. The house was really big with lot of spare land. In the side of vacant area few meters away from boundary cemented benches were present. So we three sat on that bench. Its true that when god is against you he will leave no stone unturned to tie you with a rope as tight as possible. I am a cynophobic and kudrat ka karishma dekhiye a dog appeared I dont know from where and came near me and started barking. You cant imagine d rate of heartbeat at that time. I started taking names of all the Gods. Surely some one is there to hear u. I dont know what happened but the kind dog moved from there. I was never relieved to that extent in my entire life. But relief hardly lasted a minute as some1 switched on the light. He tried to find if something was wrong but never found as we were behind the bench in no time. So he went back and once again we were relieved till we figured that we were only three. S and P were missing. Meanwhile something interesting was happening with S and N. They ran in different directions and one cop was behind each of them. Some real time chasing occurred till the cops gave up in-front of the young bloods. In this way we all escaped off the trouble till some generosity came in minds of S and P. I don`t how identical idea came in mind of both of them, sab to pakda hi gaya hoga to hum akele bach ke kya karenge? So both surrendered and got a punch of typical lathi. The black mark of that lathi remained for almost one week. Soon we were on a search abhiyan while they were enjoying a ride on the Jeep. Meanwhile we found some people lying on khatiya in-front of their house. They called us and asked if the police was behind us. We told the truth and they suggested to go home as they were still on round. Luckily one of them was carrying the mobile. So we called to enquire but he cut the phone. Till then we had guessed correctly that they have been caught. We returned home and then flooding of ideas began. Finally it was decided to call local guardian of N. So we called at 03:00 and told him about the incidence. He came, gave a good bunch of daant fatkaar but then went to PS to enquire. Meanwhile interrogation of S and N was going on. They told the truth and tried to convince they were students. One of the elderly policeman somewhat began to believe and started asking questions to test if they were really students. First ques- agar ek rupiya me dedh kilo aaloo aa sakta hai to dedh rupiya me ke kilo aaloo aayega. Second ques- 10 rupiya ko do bhag me is tarah se banto ki pahle ko ek rupiya kam mile aur dusre ko ek rupiya jyada. As my friends were intelligent enough to answer those questions they believed that they really were students. On the other side mamaji(local guardian) went to every nearest police station but could not find them ne where. As police team was on duty they wont return until morning so my friends were bound to a drive in Jeep. That nite they traveled whole city and finally returned around 05:00. One other culprit who was brought by other team was also present there. So three of them started chatting to pass the time. The other one asked my friends tumlog kis liye pakdaye ho? P had a good sense of humour so replied quickly ye(S) yahaan murder charge ke liye hai aur hum ek ladki ka rape kiye isiliye yahaan hain. As the other one was a chota mota chor he was afraid of them and talked with great respect and politeness. Then they both began to scare the other one about torture in the remand room. They said abhi khush mat ho raat me wo log ander bula ke itna lathi marenge ki hosh ud jayega. In this way they passed the time and it was 07:00. Till then we reached the Police Station and enquired of their well being. We were severely tensed for whole night till we found that they are enjoying their visit in P.S. Bought some chips and cold-drink and gave them to eat. Coincidentaly police men were drinking tea at that time and their frustration was clearly visible on the face. They might have thought saala humlog police hoke chai pi rahe hain aur yelog saala chor hoke cold drink pi raha hai. They then urged to leave themselves but according to a rule giraftari ke samay jo incharge rahta hai bina uske signature ke culprit ko nahi chora ja sakta. Ab wo bechara subah to duty karke ghar gaya hai itni jaldi kaise aayega? So we waited and waited till 11:00 when he finally came. After a written letter of they were left on condition that they could be called for enquiry whenever required.

Thus after magazmaari of 1 night and 1 day we took a breath of relief and went to a restaurant for biting some murga.
